/ What people come with

What people come to her with

Not with a diagnosis but with a wish to change the way the body moves. And almost always with very different backgrounds.

  • want to change their training and try something new
  • want to improve their posture
  • want to feel their own body better
  • used to go to a regular gym and come to the reformer expecting it to be easy
  • arrive with any background: some trained a lot, some almost never, some tried yoga or group classes

/ How it differs

Why it is not like the gym

People feel the difference in the very first session.

From the outside many exercises look very simple. But start doing them properly and the body quickly explains where the difficulty was hiding. What I hear most often after a first session: «I had no idea it would be this much work».

«I am less interested in finding what a person did wrong, and more in understanding what they did before and what they want now».

/ Case

Came with a slouch — stayed for good

A case Valeriia brings up herself.

A man came with «pain between the shoulder blades and a slouch».

The program was built for him: strengthening the core, systematic load without jerks.

The pain went away — but he did not quit. Now he comes weekly, to keep the result.

She regularly takes Pilates instructor courses — in her words, the more you study, the clearer it becomes how much more there is to learn.

/ Boundaries

Pilates is not physical therapy

The most important thing to understand before booking.

  • If the request is treatment, she is not the answer: see a physical therapist first, and after the course she is glad to have you back to keep the health you regained
  • Pilates is not stretching: with a request to «loosen up» or «get into the splits» she has to explain the difference

/ Result

When she knows it worked

A moment you can see from the outside.

I really want people to stop fearing training and to stop treating it as punishment for a dessert. So that after a session they think not «thank God that is over» but «oh, when is the next one?». If I manage to get you to love it — then everything is right.

/ Outside the studio

What she does for her own body

A question clients ask more often than you would think.

The honest answer: she is often lazy. And at the same time she knows exactly how much the body needs movement — so she comes back to it anyway.
