Pilates
on reformers

When body and brain work together. No overload, no sharp moves, with respect for the nervous system.

Kyiv · downtown (Universytet metro)Small groups and one-on-one

This is not stretching and not fitness. It is tuning your mechanics: the body learns control, not tolerance to pain.

/ Method

Pilates is
not what you think

Most often it gets confused with stretching or with light fitness. It is neither.

Not stretching

Nobody pulls your body — it is taught control. Flexibility here is not the goal but a side effect.

Not fitness

No exhaustion and no records. Success is not “did more” but “did it clean”.

Tuning the mechanics

We work within limits your nervous system can absorb. Overload here does not speed things up, it sets you back.

Mobility and stability

What matters is not how far you can reach, but whether you control the joint in that range.

/ The cause

When pain is
a consequence

Pain often appears not because “something broke” but because the body has been compensating for years: one area does the work of two, another is switched off. Reformer Pilates does not treat. It restores stability and control, reduces excess tension and creates conditions in which it is safe for the body to work.

When Pilates alone will not be enough. If something hurts right now and you do not know why — start with a movement assessment. Pilates works great once it is clear what exactly we are working with.

/ What it looks like

What a reformer
actually is

A carriage on rails and a set of springs of different stiffness. The spring does not make the work easier — it sets the resistance and the plane in which the body moves.

  • the instructor sees where the movement breaks down and changes the resistance mid-exercise
  • a lighter spring is often harder: less support means more control from you
  • lying and seated positions take the load off the spine
  • the range is set by the rail, not by your “reach further”

That is exactly why you can work on a reformer both after an injury and with no experience — the body moves along a set path instead of searching for it.

/ studio

THE STUDIO
YOU WILL TRAIN IN

A room built around the reformers: wooden floor, full-wall mirrors, tall windows. Not a corner of a gym.

/ Where to start

How the start
works

Nobody goes straight into a group. First we look at what you are coming in with.

Step 01

Trial class

One hour: up to thirty minutes of testing by the Polestar protocol, the rest is getting to know the reformer.

  • fifteen movements scored from 0 to 3
  • we choose the format and explain what to expect
Step 02

Group classes

Small groups, the instructor sees everyone. Technique control and gradual progress.

Step 03

One-on-one

Maximum attention — when there are restrictions, your own pace or a specific goal.

Or in pairs

Split and mini-group

Split or duo — a class for two, UAH 2,500. A mini-group of three — UAH 3,300. The format for when you want the instructor attention but not to be alone.

Step 04

Where it leads

Pilates here is part of the system, not a separate club. Next comes strength and endurance: from a safe start to a confident state.

/ what it looks like

THE TRAINER IS RIGHT THERE,
NOT ACROSS THE ROOM

The spring forgives a mistake, the body does not. That is why form gets corrected mid-movement, not after the set.

/ A separate format

BARRE is not the same thing
pilates

More dynamics and work at the barre, less work on the reformers. The same principle: control instead of exhaustion.

The schedule matches the Pilates one.

/ The result

What people feel
who come regularly

  • contact with your own body — you understand what works and how
  • less unnecessary tension in the neck and lower back
  • confidence in movement and better balance
  • stable posture without “keep your back straight”
  • readiness for load in the gym or in sport

This is not about a quick effect. It is about changes you notice in ordinary life — how you sit, stand up, carry bags.

Who teaches
pilates

/ Questions and answers

Frequent questions

Is it hard?+
At first — possibly. Hard not because the exercise is heavy, but because you are learning to feel your body in a new way. The nervous system is building a new map. The instructor adapts the exercises to your level and pace, so it gradually becomes comfortable.
Do I need to be flexible?+
No, that is a myth — neither in Pilates nor in life. What matters is joint mobility and stability. We gently expand the range and teach the body to control it.
Will it hurt?+
No. Every range stays within your control and comfort. We do not fit the client to the exercise, we fit the exercise to the client.
What if I do not understand anything?+
That is exactly how it should be at the start. Pilates is getting to know your own body: you find out where your tailbone is and what the lower edge of the shoulder blade means. Give yourself time, and we will teach you to read the map.
I feel self-conscious about my shape+
Pilates suits everyone — regardless of age, experience or shape. There is no judging and no comparing here, just calm work at your own pace.
What if I am a man?+
Great. You will learn to control your body better and use that in strength and sports training. And if the goal is simply to feel better — this is exactly it.
How soon can I book?+
In most cases we see people the same day they contact us, with no weeks of waiting. Free slots are posted daily on Instagram @dynamica.kyiv.
